1. Mark exact center point of ceiling. Verify with laser level. For domes recessed into the ceiling plane, prepare the ceiling opening to the specified diameter per the CAD plan.

2. Domes: Apply PL Premium adhesive (foam-rated) to the dome flange perimeter. Set dome into ceiling opening. Secure flange to ceiling framing with 2″ finishing screws at 12″ on-center. For surface-mount domes, apply adhesive to back and press to ceiling surface; fasten through perimeter into framing.

3. Medallions: Apply PL Premium in S-pattern to medallion back. Press to ceiling surface at center point. Nail through medallion at 4 points into framing. Align center hole with light fixture electrical box.

4. Caulk all joints — dome flange to ceiling, medallion edge to ceiling surface — with paintable latex caulk. Tool smooth. Cure 4 hours minimum before touch-up paint.

• Always coordinate dome and medallion positions with the light fixture electrical box location before ordering. Moving an electrical box after dome installation is an avoidable expense.

• Multi-tone finishing doubles the visual impact of any ornamental dome or medallion. Profiles CM25–CM30 and CD14–CD16 specified in single-color white lose significant detail at ceiling height. • For ceiling heights above 12 feet, always specify a deeper relief dome profile (CD11–CD16). Shallow-relief domes disappear visually at high ceiling heights — the shadow contrast that defines the dome form requires depth proportional to viewing distance.
