Complete square column set: classical fluted shaft with Tuscan Square capital and Tuscan square base. Retrofit-capable — available solid or with square cutout. PRICING NOT CONFIRMED BY SOURCE: same Width×Height grid as Round Plain (COLSET-MOD001), applied on the assumption that shaft style and profile do not affect set price. Verify before publishing.
Cad drawings
Send us the opening height, the post or wall condition and the look you have in mind, and we will prepare a CAD drawing of your architectural column kit. The drawing shows the shaft diameter and height, the cap and base profiles, whether the column is round, tapered or belly style, and how the kit fits the beam or soffit above and the floor below. If you are comparing Tuscan columns with other designs, we can draw more than one option so you see the proportions before anything is made. You approve the drawing before production, so the columns are produced to the sizes you confirmed.
Application
Foam column kits bring classical proportions to a building without the weight of stone or solid timber. They are used in many places:
- Front porches, entries and portico, as decorative columns for the exterior of a house.
- Covered patios, pergolas, verandas and garage openings.
- Living rooms, foyers, hotel lobbies, restaurants and showrooms, as round column designs that frame an opening.
- Replacement of worn porch columns, when you want a Tuscan or tapered look in place of a plain post.
Because the kits are lightweight and foam based, they are easier to handle than wood or concrete and do not rot or attract insects.
Installation and documents
A column kit is light enough for one or two installers, and the parts can usually be trimmed with ordinary carpentry tools. If you need to replace porch columns, installation typically goes in four steps:
- Check that the structural post or support is plumb and sound, and measure the opening height against your drawing.
- Set the base, slide the shaft over the support and place the cap, fixing each part with construction adhesive and fasteners suited to the surface.
- Fill the seams and fastener holes so the joints between base, shaft and cap disappear.
- Prime and paint the column, and touch up any cut edges.
With every order we supply the CAD drawing and an installation guide with finishing notes. We can also check photos of the opening before you start.
Customization
Every column kit is made to order, so the columns follow your opening and not the other way round. You can choose:
- Shaft style: plain round, tapered or belly, to suit a modern, craftsman or traditional building.
- Cap and base design, such as the Tuscan cap and base, or a different profile from our catalogue.
- Diameter and height, including custom architectural columns for unusual openings.
- Finish: primed for painting, painted in a colour matched to your trim, or a faux stone or wood look on request.
Tell us the opening height and the style of the building, and we will suggest a column design.
Payment
The price of your column kit depends on diameter, height, style, finish and the number of columns. We accept PayPal, Visa and Mastercard. The payment schedule is written in your quote, and production begins after the CAD drawing is approved and the order is confirmed. Freight is quoted with the order and depends on the delivery address and the size of the shipment. Larger orders and commercial projects, such as hotels, restaurants and public buildings, are priced individually, so send us the number of columns and their sizes for a quotation.
Exchange and return
Column kits are made to order from your approved drawing, so they cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. Please inspect the shipment on delivery, note any damage on the carrier’s paperwork and photograph it before unpacking. If a column, cap or base arrives damaged or does not match the approved drawing, contact us right away with photos and the order number, and we will repair or remake it. Check the parts against the drawing before you start fixing the first column.
